Hero Splendor Plus 2025 OBD-2B Update: What Bangladesh Riders Should Know
11 April 2025 · 4 min read
Hero MotoCorp has launched the 2025 Splendor Plus range in India with OBD-2B compliant engines and a modest price hike. While the design and output remain unchanged, the emission update is a regulatory step that Bangladesh may follow soon.
What is OBD-2B and why it matters
OBD-2B (On-Board Diagnostics Stage 2B) is the latest emission compliance norm in India. For 2025, Hero has updated the Splendor Plus's 97.2cc single-cylinder engine with an OBD-2B tune. The output remains unchanged at 7.91 PS at 8,000 rpm and 8.05 Nm at 6,000 rpm. Design, features, and equipment are identical to the previous model.
The price hike is approximately Rs 1,750 across all variants, bringing the base Drum Brake model to Rs 78,926 (ex-showroom Delhi). For Bangladesh, where the Splendor Plus is already sold by Niloy Motors, this update is likely to reach the market within 3–6 months.
Should Bangladeshi buyers care?
For everyday commuters in Dhaka and other cities, the OBD-2B update is invisible. It does not change fuel economy, performance, or reliability. The Splendor Plus remains the same bulletproof commuter it has always been, with its claimed 70+ kmpl mileage and low maintenance costs.
However, the update signals that Hero is keeping the platform current for the long term. For buyers who want the latest compliance version, waiting for the 2025 model makes sense. For those who need a bike immediately, the current stock is mechanically identical.
