Royal Enfield Starts Local Manufacturing in Bangladesh via IFAD Motors

26 January 2025 · 6 min read

IFAD Motors Limited has inaugurated Royal Enfield's official manufacturing and assembly operations in Bangladesh, starting with the Classic 350, Bullet 350, Meteor 350, and Hunter 350. This milestone makes Royal Enfield one of the few premium brands assembling locally in Bangladesh.

The local assembly milestone

Royal Enfield's journey in Bangladesh began in earnest when IFAD Motors Limited inaugurated its first official showroom in Rajshahi on January 26, 2025. The company is locally assembling four 350cc models: the Classic 350, Bullet 350, Meteor 350, and Hunter 350. All use the same J-Series 349cc air-oil cooled single-cylinder engine producing 20.2 bhp and 27–28 Nm of torque.

Local assembly is expected to reduce prices compared to fully imported units, improve spare parts availability, and allow faster service turnaround. The Classic 350 is priced at approximately Tk 432,000, the Bullet 350 at Tk 417,500, the Meteor 350 at Tk 471,000, and the Hunter 350 at Tk 371,500.

What this means for Bangladeshi riders

For Bangladeshi cruiser enthusiasts, local Royal Enfield manufacturing is significant news. Before this, Royal Enfield bikes were imported at high cost, making them accessible only to a small segment. With local assembly, prices become more competitive against Indian-made alternatives like the Bajaj Avenger 160 and imported Chinese cruisers.

The nationwide dealership expansion is also accelerating. IFAD Motors is actively seeking dealers across divisional cities, which means riders outside Dhaka will soon have access to authorised service centres, genuine parts, and warranty support.

Which model should you choose?

The Hunter 350 at Tk 371,500 is the most affordable entry point and the best choice for city-centric riders. Its lighter weight, neutral ergonomics, and 2025 slipper-clutch update make it the easiest RE to live with daily.

The Classic 350 at Tk 432,000 is the iconic choice for riders who want the vintage look and the highest resale value. The Bullet 350 shares the same engine but with a more traditional design and twin-shock rear suspension.

The Meteor 350 at Tk 471,000 is the touring-focused option with a windscreen, comfortable seat, and highway-friendly gearing. For riders planning long trips to Rangamati or Bandarban, it is the best fit.
